Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, popularly known as Chappell Roan, was born on the 19th of February, 1998. She was born in the city of Missouri in the United States. Chappell Roan came from a family with a rich background in veterinary. Chappell’s mother was a qualified veterinarian, and her father was also a veterinarian. 

During her early life, Chappell began to take piano classes. The piano lessons introduced her to music production. When she was 13 years old, Chappell began to perform in front of guests.

This song was the first song that garnered public attention in her career. The song made her travel from Missouri to New York to perform the song. Subsequently, she was signed by Atlantic Records in 2015. In 2016, Chappell decided to change her name to Chappell Roan. 

She mentioned that the name was her grandfather’s name, and it was done in honour of her father after his battle with brain cancer. Chappell mentioned that she didn’t like her birth name in the first place, which is why she chose to change her name.

The following year, Chappell decided to release her first official single, “Good Hurt”. Several critics mentioned that the song had a perfect balance of maturity and deep vocals. Later that year, through Atlantic Records, she released an EP. The EP was titled “School Night”. 

In 2018, Chappell went on tour with Declan McKenna. The tour exposed her to the music business in the United States. At the same time, Chappell Roan began to work with Dan Nigro, who was a producer. Two years later, Chappell Roan released a song titled “Pink Pony Club”.

Afterwards, Chappell began to work in a doughnut shop to take care of her music business. Eventually, her music was recognized. Her song “Pink Pony Club” was ranked in a list created by the USA Today publication. In 2022, the song went on to amass over 10 million streams since its release. 

In February 2022, Sony came up with an offer for Chappell. She accepted and combined with Da Nigro again to release “Naked in Manhattan” later that year. The song was one of her first songs to be released as an independent artist. Later that year, Chappell laid her vocals for some of Olivia Rodrigo’s songs. 

Her vocals were included on songs that were eventually added to Olivia Rodrigo’s album. Due to her impressive performance on these songs, Chappell was invited to perform on Olivia Rodrigo’s tour.
